Agriculture (Ashland High School)

Program Information

If you have a passion for agriculture, the satellite Agriculture program at Ashland High School may be for you. Production agriculture is the focus for students interested in using scientific methods to positively impact society and the environment. Utilizing the on-site greenhouses, students will study agronomy (plant genetics) and plant breeding along with the way in which pesticides and fertilizers affect the ecosystem. Study will also encompass learning how to identify environmental issues and government regulations for crop production and farming. Students will explore agriculture-related fields such as horticulture, resource management and life sciences.
